The chapter starts with authors interest about asking an contrartian question to the canditates while interviewing. He also point out the rareness in the courage than the scarcity in the intellectuals. While most answers relays on present situation, the appropriate one should have a part in future. In simple term, future is a new world, a world totally/partly different from where we live now. The answer relies on the current statement but insist the truth is future happening.
Look at the development in the real world, it can horizontal or vertical in nature. While horizontal is taking the exiting thing and implementing the same in other parts of world or just optimizing the cureent process we can call them globaliization. On the other hand the vertical development is completly new and untried approaches and it relies on new technologies not just IT. The author’s answer to the contratrian question is most believes the future is defined by globalization, while the truth is technology matters more.
Again the future won’t happen just like that we humans have to work and create it. Startup is a place where we can create new technologies, as the big organization or an individual often fail in creating new technologies due to the natural/artificial constraints in them.
